What is NFT at Macy's?

Macy's launches first-ever NFT series in celebration of the 95th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®. A special auction of 10 Epic designs to benefit Make-A-Wish® begins Nov. 19 and is available via macys.com/NFT.

How much of Macy's NFTS will go to make-a-wish?

While the NFTs will be free to mint, 10% of their resale profits will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The NFTs will feature some of the parade’s iconic, giant balloons dating to the 1920s. Macy’s is also individually auctioning off 10 “Ultra Rare” NFTs from Nov. 19 to Nov. 30, with all earnings also going to Make-A-Wish.

What is the history of NFT balloons?

Each NFT references a parade balloon from decades past, going back to a black and white toy soldier from the 1920s. Also featured is an elf character from the 2000s and a spaceman from the 1950s, who lost an arm in the 1955 parade after colliding with a lamppost (the NFT version is fully inflated).
